Cuff Titles and Hat Titles

Here are overall views of the front and back of the entire cuff.

This cuff title is still attached to the cuff portion of the original uniform sleeve fragment, apparent in the images.

It has no tags present. It measures approximately 15 inches long. There is some fading on one side of the title, as shown. The cuff title is woven, with 7 silk floss thread borders top and bottom.

The overall condition is used, very good to near excellent, except as noted above.

This cuff title is used, however still near excellent, apparent in the images.

It has no tags present. It measures 16 inches long and 1-5/16 inches wide. The cuff title is woven, with silver bullion Sütterlin script letters with silver braid borders top and bottom.

The overall condition is very good to near excellent, as noted above.

This cuff title is used, however still near excellent.  It is sewn.

It has an RZM SS 459/36 tag present. It measures 15 inches in diameter and 1 inch wide. The cuff title is woven, with silver bullion wire Sütterlin script letters with wire borders top and bottom.

The overall condition is near excellent, as noted above.

This cuff title is unissued in near excellent condition.  It has not been sewn.

It has no maker tag present. It measures 17 inches long with finished ends and 1-1/16 inches wide. The cuff title is woven, with gray silk Sütterlin script letters with silver wire borders top and bottom.

The overall condition is very good to near excellent with threads remaining from when it was removed from a uniform, as noted above.

There is no RZM tag present. It measures 19 inches long. The cuff title is woven, with silver bullion wire block letters, with 5 silver thread borders top and bottom.

This cufftitle has woven red borders. Here is a view of the back.

It has an SS RZM woven tag present. It measures 15-1/2 inches long, with the ends folded.

The overall condition is near mint.

This black velvet cufftitle has embroidered red borders, and white numerals. Here is a view of the back.

It has no tag or maker marks. It measures 18 inches long.

The overall condition is near very good, with some fading to the red borders on the front portion of the title from being folded and displayed.

This black silk cufftitle has embroidered white letters. Here is a view of the back.

It has no tag or maker marks. It measures 23 inches long.

The overall condition is near very good.

This cuff title was authorized in October 1935 for luftwaffe pilots who could prove they flew in Boelcke's fighter squadron in WWI. Boelcke was the first German flying corps member to be awarded the Pour le Mérite, and his squadron was second only to the Red Baron's in fame. There were VERY few who rated this cuff title, among them NSFK Gruppenführer von Bülow and Bruno Loerzer, and Generalmajor Dipl. Ing. Gerhard Bassenge.
