German Militaria High Leader, General Officer & Specialty Items, cont'd

Here is a view of the back. This hanger is gilded alloy with oak leaves and national political eagles prominent in the design. It was worn by high leaders and used to retain the plastic composite holster that held the Walther PPK honor pistol.

This hanger is pictured and described in Kahl's Uniforms and Badges of the Third Reich Vol I: NSDAP as figure 153 on page 30, and shown in wear on page 50. We have one of these scarce 1970 first edition books available. Email if you need it for your library.

The hanger measures 4-5/8 inches wide and 1-7/8 inches high. There is some very minor wear apparent at the suspension points from routine use.

The overall condition is near excellent.

This is a silver plated swastika fob found at the Obersalzberg area by a 506th PIR 101st Airborne Infantry Division officer named 1 Lt D C Watts.

This is a UNIQUE and historic ORIGINAL presentation gift from of one of the most notorious members of the Third Reich: Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler.

This red clay earthenware pottery candleholder is documented in the book SS Regalia by Robin Lumsden compiled from items in the Ulric of England collection. It is shown and described on page 35 and described as "One of the earthware Julleuchter candleholders that were distributed annually to selected SS men on the occasion of the Winter Solstice". It is also pictured in a drawing on the 1944 Himmler Christmas card.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of occasional use, including traces of wax in the candleholder area.

It measures 4 by 4 inches at the base and is nearly 9 inches high.   Here are other views  1  2.

It is extremely rare to see one of these very scarce candleholders in intact and in outstanding condition, such as this.

This is a nicely made COPY of the original presentation gift from of one of the most notorious members of the Third Reich: Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler.

This red clay earthenware pottery candleholder is virtually identical to the original, except it has been glazed and the details are less defined than the original.  Note especially the area around the candle socket.  Compare with the original shown above.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of occasional use.

It measures 4 by 4 inches at the base and is nearly 9 inches high. It has the SS sigrune impressed into the clay of the base, as shown.

It is much more affordable than an original and suitable for set dressing or diorama display of what is a fairly fragile artifact.

There is a short roster of the Reservists (35 names) with Kaiser 2 named in the list.

It has the cavalry horse with mounted rider on the top of the lid. The head is still present, but has a minor bend at the neck.  There is a rampant lion lifter (Bavaria). The lid is shown from the left, center (raised) and right sides.

The lithopane scene is the upper profile (waist up) of a cavalry trooper facing his woman, holding hands, also in profile.  

There are a number of scenes of the cavalry in action.  The front shows the Kaiser wearing a number of neck and sash orders and a number of medals on his high neck uniform above his name.

It is in near excellent condition.

It measures 12-1/2 inches high with a 4-5/8 inch base, as shown.

This is an unusual souvenir of Berlin, taken when the Quadriga chariot statue was removed by the Russians following the end of WWII.  The  was eventually recreated and restored in 1957.  Of the original statue, only one horse's head remains (it is in a museum in Berlin) and some fragments from when it was cut up for scrap.  This is one of the sawn fragments. This photo taken on July 16, 1945 shows the extent of the damage to the statue.

The piece is 7 inches long at the bottom, and 9 inches high and 3 inches thick.  There is a carved symbol (or letters) on the bottom of the base.  There are torch and saw marks evident on the top and sides. It was gilded at one point, portions of the original gilt remain, and there is the usual green patina of old bronze present.  It is VERY heavy (approximately 10 pounds)

It is in near relic condition, evident in the images.

The case has a hinged top and unfolds to reveal the center compartment containing the glasses. The case features a fancy maker mark separately applied on the inside lid reading Stichler-Optik Berlin W. Tauenstzienstr. These is a break in the lens at one of the nose screws, shown here.  This shows the front and back of the case.

The details of the "liberation" of these glasses are detailed in a notarized statement from the original soldier who took them from Ribbentrop's Mannheim, Germany office.  His name is also listed in a unit history of the 44th Division, with his pre-war Hartford, Connecticut address. One of his original 44th Division patches (shown here front and rear) and a photo of him in London is included. Note the EAME with multiple stars, and the CIB.

The glasses and blued steel case are in used, still near very good condition, showing signs of frequent use.

The case measures 6 inches long and 2-1/2 inches high.

The case is hinged top and bottom and unfolds to reveal the center compartment. The case features a long wing eagle separately applied over the button fastener. These is a script maker mark.  This shows the back of the case.

This is a presentation gift from Baldur von Schirach to his friend Ed Shaefer on the occasion of his birthday in 1968. A statement from Ed Shaefer is included, dated 1990.

The pin is 9CT gold content marked on the open style engraved and embellished pin body. The pin features a tubular safety catch type fastener.  The claw is highly polished and very open at the top showing the grain.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of frequent use.

The pin measures 1-7/8 inches long and 7/8 inches wide at the base.

1st SS Panzer Division LSSAH Leibstandarte (SS) Adolf Hitler Gold Opera Chained Cufflinks.

This is a heavy 585 (14K) gold set of chained cufflinks once belonging to Sepp Dietrich. It is monogrammed with S.S. runes and the PZ division ID on each.

It is in near excellent condition, showing signs of frequent use. The back shows the JWA in triangle maker marks and .585 gold content. The runes are and skulls are deeply engraved.

It measures 3-3/4 by 1 inches overall.

This is a standard size gold wire bordered tab with a 3/4 inch square silver metal party eagle placed in the center of a light pink velvet tab. The condition is near excellent overall.

Reichs Minister Albert Speer Gilded Oak Leaves and Swords A.S. Was Seal with recessed letters.

This is a heavy jade green stone handled seal once belonging to Albert Speer. It is monogrammed with his A.S. initials monogram.

It is in near excellent condition, showing signs of frequent use. The back shows some minor damage. The initials are deeply set. The handle portion is shown in close-up.

It measures 3-3/4 by 1 inches overall.

The letter references the return of a lost honor gift (a cigarette case with a Heinrich Himmler etched signature), conveying his regards to Wahl's wife, and wishing him luck with his "Jewish problems".

The condition is near-excellent, with creases from when it was folded for mailing.

The letter is written on Wagner's official DAF Gau Baden letterhead.  There is a chop ladder at the top with Wahl's signature indicating receipt of the document and case on the 5th of July.

This is a close-up view of the Himmler signature on the inside of the top cover.  The outside of the cover has Karl Wahl's initials in engraved in block letters.  There are no content or maker marks apparent.

The case measures 4-1/2 by 2-1/2 by 1-1/2 inches. The letter measures 8-1/4 by 11-3/4 inches.

Reichs Minister Albert Speer Silver Cigarette Case

This is a heavy textured solid silver cigarette case once belonging to Albert Speer. It is monogrammed with his block letter AS monogram.

The case is a smooth finish. It is curved and designed for trousers pocket carry.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of frequent use. The back is the same textured pattern as the front. The inside of the case has spring metal retainers. The elastic is missing.

It measures 3-1/4 by 4-3/4 inches closed. It has two 800 silver content marks impressed into the inside surface.

Generaloberst Johannes von Blaskowitz Holland Map Silver Cigarette Case

This is a textured solid silver cigarette case once belonging to the commander of the German military in Holland, the Netherlands. It is engraved with a detailed map of Occupied Holland.

The case is a lightly textured finish. It is flat and designed for concealed uniform pocket carry.  It is very thin and holds one row of cigarettes.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of frequent use. The back is the same textured pattern as the front. The inside of the case has spring metal retainers. The elastic is present.

It measures 3-1/4 by 2-3/4 inches closed. It has a 835S silver content mark impressed into the inside edge.

This is an ALPACCA Silver Plate Cigarette Case given to Graf Wolf Heinrich von Helldorf as a Christmas gift in 1930

This is a textured solid silver cigarette case once belonging to the police chief of Berlin who was tried and executed for his part in the 20 July assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler. It is engraved with a detailed map of Occupied Holland.

The case is a lightly textured finish. It is flat and designed for pocket carry.  It is thin and holds two rows of cigarettes.  One elastic remains of the original two.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of frequent use. The back has a different ribbed pattern, but edge treatment matches the front. The inside of the case has an abbreviated notation indicating the date of the gift as "Wiehn. 30" in script hand engraving. The front of the case has the engraved initials "WH".

It measures 3-1/4 by 3-5/8 inches closed. It has an ALPACCA DRP silver plate content mark and two maker marks impressed into the inside edge.

German Industrialist Carl Bock, Aviation Design Pioneer Presentation Silver Cigarette Case

This is a very fancy textured and oak leaf embellished with blue enamel accents solid silver cigarette case presented to "Emile" as an Honor Award from Director Carl Bock, Leipzig, on 27 March 1924. It is engraved with a detailed internal inscription.  The initials E.H. are in a block on the front.

The case is a lightly textured finish. It is flat.  It holds two rows of cigarettes.

It is in near excellent condition, showing some signs of moderate gentle use. The back is the same textured pattern as the front. The inside of the case has spring metal retainers. The elastics are present.

It measures 3-1/2 by 4-3/4 inches closed. It has a 900 silver content mark and OCO maker mark impressed into the inside edge.

This case contained a very early Oberst Ludendorff signature clip.  In 1912, prior to the outbreak of WWI and his meteoric rise as a German war hero, Ludendorff was a colonel and commander of the German 9th Cavalry Regiment.  The signature block contains his rank and command.  It measures 2-3/4 by 1-1/2 inches.

This is a presentation gift to the Commander of the Netherlands German Armed Forces, General der Flieger Friedrich Christiansen.

This cup is deeply scribed with the commander's title and has an applied engraved shield on the back. It has an applied luftwaffe eagle and scribed dedication on the front.

It is in near very good condition, showing deep tarnish and some signs of frequent use.

It measures 2-3/4 in diameter at the top by 3-1/4 inches high. It has a H. J. Wilm, Berlin maker mark and an ALPACCA content mark on the bottom, as shown.

This is an unusual item!

It is a latex mask, with the features of Adolf Hitler. The likeness is very close, to the bags under the eyes, and the distinctive hair style, and of course, the moustache.

It is sized to fit a large adult with holes for breathing, seeing and hearing in all the usual places. The mouth is closed and has no opening. Here is a view of the back.

It measures approximately 10-12 inches in diameter, and about 14 inches high and 10 inches across. It is very flexible.
