German Bayonets and Edged Weapon Parts

The ax measures 18-1/2 inches overall. The head measures 6-1/2 long and 3-1/4 inches at the bit. The pommel is 2-1/4 inches long.

The blade is shown in close-up from the left and right sides of the bit which is plain and unmarked. The pommel shows some minor freckles.

There is some minor wear to the paint on the handle from routine carry. There are no apparent maker marks.

The engraved blade measures 9-3/4 inches. It measures 16 inches overall.

The blade is etched with a combat scene of an MG08 machine gun crew, an antitank artillery crew, and a panzer tank. The scroll is Zur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit [In remembrance of my wartime service]) The reverse side of the blade is plain and unmarked. The red felt insert and leather buffer are in near mint intact condition.

There is some minor wear to the paint on the scabbard. There is wear to the paint of the scabbard. The F. W. HÖLLER SOLINGEN maker marked blade is near mint throughout.

The blade measures 11-3/8 inches. It measures 16-1/4 inches overall.

The blade is maker marked with the sword impaled HHS logo and E&F HÖRSTER SOLINGEN name. It is numbered "L.G. 152" on the reverse side of the crossguard. Both sides of the blade are plain. The green felt insert and leather buffer are present. There are very robust staghorn scales, as shown. The blade, pommel, and grips are excellent to near mint throughout. The fittings are gilded brass.

The scabbard is serial numbered L.G. 152 at the throat.  The number matches the bayonet markings.

The frog is maker marked FRANZ BREHME WAHLSRODE and has the Kriegsmarine Eagle "M" stamp. It is in near excellent overall condition.

The blade is stamped with a proof mark and the number 350 and is Carl Eickhorn Solingen maker marked and the guard is not marked. Both sides of the blade are plain. The leather buffer is not present. The blade measures 9-3/4 inches. It measures 15-1/4 inches overall.  Over 98% of the original blue remains on the blade. The blade has the original factory edge and has never been sharpened.

The blade is maker marked "ffc" (Friedrich Abr. Herder und Sohn, Solingen) and dated "44" and the scabbard maker marked "44ffc". It is dated "1936 and serial numbered"3086" on the blade (visible in the image of the right side of the grip, below) and scabbard. Both sides of the blade are otherwise plain. The blade is dated "43" and maker marked "fnj" (Alexander Coppel, GmbH (aka ALCOSO), Solingen)Both sides of the blade are otherwise plain.  The scabbard is maker marked "cof" (Carl Eickhorn Waffenfabrik, Solingen)dated "42". It is serial numbered "9459 O" on the other side. The proof mark is present on the top of the pommel partially hidden by the top strap. The tip of the drag of the scabbard is also marked. This is the grip in close-up front and rear.

There is some routine wear to the anodized finish on the marked and numbered scabbard. The blade and bayonet proper is in serviceable throughout.

This bayonet has seen combat use, with heavy wear to the original finish present on the blade and scabbard. The screws on the wood grips appear to have never been moved.

The blade measures 9-3/4 inches. It measures 15 inches overall.

The blade is maker marked WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.G. OBENDORF a.N. and the scabbard is devoid of any markings of any kind. This is the grip in close-up front and rear. There are some heavily worn inspection/proof marks on the guard.

The condition is used and serviceable throughout.

This bayonet has seen combat use, with heavy wear to the original finish present on the blade and scabbard. The screws on the wood grips appear to have never been moved.

There is a "GES GESCHÜTZT" registration mark deeply stamped into the right ricasso. There is a deeply struck "PDL" and a raised round symbol (resembling a gear) on the other side of the tang. There is very minor signs of wear in the area of the ricasso. This blade was removed from a knife that saw some light service during the war. There is some very minor spotting.  The edges are factory ground and never appear to have been sharpened.

The 8.75 inch long and 13.5 inch overall blade is in near excellent condition overall, with signs of routine use and wear present. The very tip of the blade is absent.

This is a view of the rear. There are minor to moderate signs of wear to the original finish, however the design is still sharp and clear. Each measures 1 inch wide by 2-3/4 inches high.

The grips are in near very good used condition overall.

There is no maker mark. There are routine signs of wear throughout.  The there are significant dents at the front and rear from when it got pinched.  The dents do not impair proper function.

The scabbard is in good to used condition overall, with signs of routine use and wear present.

There is an Eickhorn Solingen maker mark and GES. GESCH. with national eagle emblem deeply etched into the ricasso on one side and a serial number "8809" more lightly etched on the reverse. There are moderate signs of wear and some rusting apparent in the images.  The guard had the eagle "de-nazified" by removing the swastika.  The end of the tang is pinned with the original pin.  The original leather buffer is present.

The blade has never been sharpened outside of the factory, it retains all of its original contours.  The point is in very good condition.  There are some slight dings on the upper flat surface from when it was used to pound something when it was intact as a dagger.

This fairly scarce blade is in good to near very good used condition overall.

The guard is in near very good used condition overall.
