Welcome to Snyder's Treasure Trove of Militaria!

Entomology Coleopterology Collection

This is a large group of beetles and a few other related species of insects. Virtually all of them are identified and classified, with dates and places of collection -- most in the late 1980s and early 1990s

There are approximately 300 boxes with desiccated and pinned specimens. Each box contains an average of 6 insects.  The total number of specimens is on the close order of 2000. Most of the boxes measure 2 by 4 inches, with some 4 by 4 boxes for larger examples.

This is a superlative collection, well presented and preserved.  It would be a significant addition to any advanced collection or a great starting point for a beginning collector.

You can email us at snyderstr@aol.com with questions.

10 sets of boxes are shown with some representative specimens.  The sizes of the insects range from very tiny (in glass vials) to beetles over 2 inches long.  Click on the thumbnails to see MUCH larger images, showing the mounting and documentation detail.
